In Massachusetts, currently, CNM, or ‘Certified Nurse-Midwife’ is the only recognized certification and licensure in the legislation. CNMs are independent practitioners and regulated by the Board of Nursing

There is only one midwifery education program in MA for post-graduate certification (after completing your Baccalaureate nursing degree)

After completing your educational program, you will sit for your certification boards administered by the AMCB (American Midwifery Certification Board)
